BF 1942 Dedicated Linux Server Distribution Site...

For many years, this site has served its purpose of supporting the Linux game admin community for the Battlefield franchise. We were the original distribution point for the Linux version of the BF1942 server and built a strong community around it. Now that EA is providing at least some support for the Linux server versions of their Battlefield games I think it is no longer necessary for me to maintain this site. I kept the forums up for the excellent information they contained from the early years of BF1942 but they are now so overrun with spam that their utility is all but gone. I just don't have time to police them and for every script I install to automate the process the spammers make more use of it. As I am fond of saying "We had a good run". After I've had a chance to clean them up I may put them back online in read-only mode. No idea when I'll have time for that however... Thanks to all of you who made this site such a useful resource to the Linux game admin community. Should anyone like to make use of this sub-domain let me know and perhaps we can come to some sort of arrangement. |
